LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 25, 2014--
Ducommun Incorporated (NYSE: DCO) (“Ducommun” or the “Company”) today
reported that it has received a contract from Boeing (NYSE: BA) to
produce ground and flight spoilers for the 737
MAX — Boeing’s new family of single-aisle airplanes. Ducommun will
produce the spoilers at the Company’s Monrovia, Calif. operations with
support from its Guaymas, Mexico facility. Ducommun has provided
structural solutions for the 737 platform since its inception. Earlier
this year, the Company announced it will also support the 737 MAX by
producing engine inlet bulkheads and structural titanium assemblies used
in the propulsion and thrust reversers.
“With this important win, Ducommun further expands its content on the
innovative 737 MAX platform,” said Anthony J. Reardon, chairman and
chief executive officer. “We’re proud to have been selected, once again,
by Boeing for the MAX and look forward to providing broad-based
structural solutions for this line of jets, now the fourth generation of
the 737 family.”
The Boeing 737 MAX will build on the 737 platform’s reliability while
delivering the highest fuel efficiency to the single-aisle market. First
flight is scheduled for 2016, with deliveries to customers anticipated
to begin in 2017. The 737 MAX has already accumulated over 2,200 orders
and is expected to have eight percent lower per-seat operating costs
than its competition.
