View printer-friendly versionDucommun Incorporated Announces $2.6 Million Contract Award from NASA Marshall Space Flight Center for Crew Exploration Vehicle and Crew Launch Vehicle Support
LOS ANGELES, California (September 6, 2006) -- Ducommun Incorporated (NYSE:DCO) today announced that Miltec, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ducommun Technologies, Inc., has been awarded a $2.6 million contract to provide hardware-in-the-loop simulation support for National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) avionics laboratories in Huntsville, Alabama. Under the terms of the contract, the Miltec team will participate with NASA personnel in the enhancement of MSFC hardware-in-the-loop simulation laboratories in preparation for testing the next generation of launch vehicles that will return humans to the moon and then to Mars and other destinations. MSFC hardware-in-the-loop simulation capabilities will be enhanced to support Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) and Crew Launch Vehicle (CLV) testing activities beginning in 2007. Additionally, MSFC hardware-in-the-loop laboratories will support a common simulation infrastructure providing a standard simulation environment across facilities; thus, increasing the utilization of personnel, and reducing training, testing and maintenance costs.
